I had heard about  R.D. drawing a lot from Western Classical...but one must give him credit for adapting the tunes well to Hindi lyrics....There's a lot of music in the Hindi film industry that is "inspired".....The song "Haan Mujhe Pyar Hain" is a straight pick from some Indonesian song, for instance...Nice informative blog.

True..Uma..mebbe copying tunes is a simple way out. to garner the hoglights ..but it will definitely come under the scanner some day or the other!
